Annotation

This article employs a test of social habits in order to uncover the various kinds of observable interactions and meanings in it: first, the interactions in hypothetical situations which mirror the expectations of a group of speakers on appropriate talk in specific situations, or mainly “politic behavior”; second, informant-researcher interactions as detectable in the answers given to opinion questions, enhancing and developing “politic behavior” and politeness perceptions; and third, evaluations that unveil the relations with the “real” world in the broader Venezuelan social context."
