Annotation

This paper examines the connection between media favoritism, media reception, and preference for a candidate in the US. Democratic and Republican presidential nomination campaigns in 2000. The most impressive relationship, supporting a classic interpretation of direct media effects, appeared to exist between talk radio listening and candidate preferences amongst both parties.
