This paper states that the comparative homogeneity of Fallujah (Iraq, April 2004) news coverage in mainstream American news outlets is partially accounted for by employing new institutionalist principles. It is concluded that the development of new institutionalist theory asks for more detailed conceptualization and measurement of its key predictions.
