This paper sets out to offer a more actor-oriented perspective on political news construction by considering the competition over news exposure during political waves in Israel. The proposed theoretical model tries to account for the initiation of political waves, the wave types that offer the greatest opportunities for the participation of various types of political actors, and the actors that have the best chance of being included when different wave types are covered in the news.
