Annotation

This paper discusses how media-based campaigns constitute critical devices in changing beliefs and attitudes fuelling the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa. A critical analysis of the design features of the Living Positively Campaign and of the booklet Living positively with HIV and AIDS, clearly shows that contrary to campaign designers' claims, very little best-practice heuristics are implemented in HIV/AIDS campaign designs.
