Annotation

This paper discusses how the relationship between war and language can be considered from various angles. Wars bring about language contact situations which can lead to either language death or the creation of new languages and/or terminology. Whilst warmongers employ language as one of their weapons, and battles are fought over language rights, peacemakers know the potential of language for peace promotion.
