Annotation

This paper explores what basis 5 to 7 year old children had for composing and sequencing communicative acts in situ in peer group interactions to solve social problems. It is suggested that the basis for this skill lies in the acquisition of “knowledge” of a set of relevance principles in interactions and discourse.
