Annotation

This article explores to what extent Western cultural imperialism can be considered to be propagated via television commercials of multinational and solely Indian owned corporations in India. It is argued that for current mass media, cultural imperialism is a dated concept, and that dependency theory has to be re-evaluated in the light of new technological advances.
