This paper discusses how students from seven different nations, the US, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore were found to possess a varying knowledge level of information technologies and the very concept of information society. The majority of the respondents did not even think that these information technologies could help to solve the most serious problems of their societies.
