This study examines the current state of cancer and cervical cancer knowledge among Latina and African American teenage girls, from low-income, urban environments. It is suggested that continued health promotion efforts are required to increase knowledge regarding cancer in general, and especially cervical cancer, in order to lessen fear and to emphasize the efficiency of prevention and screening.
