This paper examines how television news broadcasts in crisis conditions -in casu the Israeli television coverage of a Jerusalem suicide bombing-, construct an overall image of national civil society, emphasizing especially how the employed discursive strategies intertwine both ethnic and civic nationhood conceptions.
