Annotation

This study on the relationship between anxiety and second language acquisition, discusses Horwitz, Horwitz, and Cope's (1986) specific anxiety notion and their Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), which shows a consistent moderately negative link between language anxiety and resulting language achievement. This review argues that language anxiety may indeed be a cause of poor language acquisition in some individuals and considers potential sources of this anxiety.
