Annotation

This study uses the analytic framework of Rhetorical Structure Theory to generate pictorial representations of lengthy Chinese and Australian news journal texts and to explore variation in rhetorical organisation across culturo-linguistic groups. Promoting awareness of such cross-cultural variation benefits second language (in casu Modern Standard Chinese) classroom learning.
