Annotation

This article briefly reviews Communication Accommodation Theory and Wiemann & Giles'(1991) typology of miscommunication and some links between them. It then discusses issues worthy of further investigation such as the degree to which communicators are aware of various language and communication strategies, in particular accommodation strategies and the concept of accommodation dilemmas, their link to miscommunication and problematic talk, along with possible ways of dilemma resolution.
