Annotation

This article provides some data regarding the use of the first person singular and the first person plural perspectives in English, French, German, Bulgarian and Russian research articles in linguistics, proposes some explanations, and indicates some cross-cultural misunderstandings that may be engendered by the here established differences. It also tries to explore certain cross-linguistic and cross-cultural influences among the five analyzed languages.
