Annotation

This article argues that non-native (English as a) foreign language teachers' perceptions are very relevant to the organisation of in-service training courses. In order to discover their requirements, one needs good knowledge of the institutional framework within which they work, and that in turn calls for an ethnographic perspective on teacher-teacher discourse. The example considers English as a foreign language teaching in Switzerland and explores in detail the argument structure of teacher-teacher discourse in a non-native context.
