This paper compares the (distributions of) reading strategies in groups of dyslexic and normal readers. Reading skills and strategies were found to be distributed over a continuum in both groups. The dyslexic subjects though were specifically impaired with regard to phonological processing, and half of them use more whole-word oriented strategies than the normal control population.
