Annotation

This paper tries to identify perceived social support mechanisms via which the gender composition of Flemish secondary schools may affect pupils’ stress responses. Early adolescent girls in single-sex Flemish schools seem to experience lower stress levels than coeducational schoolgirls an this effect is largely explained by sense of belonging.
