This study demonstrates that parents of toddlers with speech—language delay (SLD) report themselves as being considerably less nurturing and more corrective in their discipline, whilst children with SLD appear to be more detached and underreactive than normally developing children. These findings may help improve intervention for children with early speech—language delay.
