This conversation analytic study of pharmacist–patient interactions on antiretroviral treatment in a South African HIV/Aids clinic pharmacy, explores the general interactional structure of these pharmacy interactions and proposes an additional structures and sequences template, expanding on several templates suggested in the literature, and in particular on Pilnick's (2001) template regarding advice-giving sequences in pharmacist–patient interactions.
