Annotation

This study focuses on affect in the AIDS discourse of Xhosa English speakers in the South African Eastern Cape. The revealed pattern illuminates AIDS attitudes, and demonstrates that appraisal can adequately be applied to a series of linguistic research domains, and that it can contribute to South African AIDS educational campaigns.
