Annotation

This study argues that whilst the role of the Welsh language in Welsh identity construction is equivocal, Welsh speakers in the Welsh heartland town of Caernarfon contest hitherto English domains, in line with conflict theory. It then explores the implications of these findings for the language policy of the Welsh Assembly Government.
