This study explains some aspects of the dialect contact between standard Castilian Spanish and nonstandard Spanish varieties in Spain. The focus lies on dialect attrition and dialect revitalization with reference to innovative regional Spanish dialects, such as, among others, Andalusian and Murcian varieties.
