This study examines language attitudes, perceptions and actual Dinka mother tongue use among secondary school learners from a Sudanese refugee community in a regional South-East Queensland settlement. Findings reveal a strong Dinka mother tongue attachment in the Sudanese refugee community, but also an increasing use of English among the survey group in both public and private domains.
