This study examines the diversity of language attitudes and ideologies in Spanish-speaking urban autochtonous and immigrant Latin American youth in Catalonia. The autochthonous group's language ideologies contained various responses to political and socioeconomic Catalonian issues. The equally ideologically diverse, though inconsistent immigrant group, was mainly focused on linguistic identity maintenance by preventing Peninsular Spanish dialectal influence.
