This study deals with the perceived functions of English-Taiwanese codeswitching practices in English as a foreign language classrooms in two Taiwanese cram schools in Taipei, and the degree to which they constitute sources of conflict, given the 'English-only' rule as the most efficient teaching-learning method in English as a foreign language classrooms.
