Annotation

This study of two opposite pole cases, featuring the traditional Jarawara and Xerente Brazilian Amerindian societies, integrating writing into their culture in a unique way, reveals that policy makers have to take into account cultural, sociolinguistic and human factors when considering minority groups' practical educational needs and aspirations.
