Although the striking similarities between a former hooligan's identity constructions in two repeated narratives, elicited via interviews with a six year time lapse, back the notion of a rehearsed self in big stories, it is argued that there are also the influences of previous story ‘rehearsals’ and the role of the same interviewer, co-constructing the narrative.
