Annotation

Taiwan's main media engage in collective efforts to repair the image of Taiwan-born Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Wang Chien-ming, whenever their national hero loses a game. The most common tactics to do so are evading responsibilities and decreasing offensiveness via 15 repairing rhetoric strategies. This case study elaborates upon the Chinese concept of guang (pride, glory, honor, and face) and the implications of third party apologies.
