This critical discourse analytic study of the US Department of Justice's website "www.lifeandliberty.gov", which intends to explain provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act, demonstrates that this hegemonic 'discourse of surveillance' attempts to preclude dissent of the USA PATRIOT Act and US Government's anti-terrorism efforts in general.
