This paper discusses how war correspondents may manage or fail to combine their moral task as eyewitnesses to disasters with their professional duty as objective observers. The illustrative example, taken from the Danish "Jyllands Posten", shows how, despite their proximity to the Iraqis, the war correspondents managed to mitigate war victim suffering.
