This critical discourse analysis shows how Slovene President Drnovsek's citizen-directed blog self-help discourse, recontextualizing and replacing political discourse with a specific kind of therapeutic discourse, serves to help citizens understand the social changes since the collapse of socialism and the rise of (neo)liberalism, and 'empower' themselves in times of economic instability.
