Media discourse in South Korea, becoming a host to Asian immigrants, constitutes immigrant identities and experiences. A discourse analytic study of two South Korean films about marriage of migrant women discloses text constructions that promote new nation-building policies in the global era whilst conserving traditional beliefs and realities concerning gender, race/ethnic, and class relations.
