This discourse and corpus analytic study of texts on the websites of 66 Dutch and Flemish small-scale development organizations, active in Gambia, focuses on the ambivalent role of diminutives in the representation of the Third- World Other: sympathy, yet also depreciation in evaluations of the Gambian side of the projects.
