This paper discusses the development of a dialect-neutral, Afrikaans-medium, child language evaluation instrument, a translated adaptation of the American Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation (Seymour, Roeper and De Villiers (2005)), which can reliably differentiate between typical and disordered child language development.
