Annotation
This content analytic study shows that U.S. Prime time network broadcast programs were less racially representative of the U.S. population in 2008 than in 2000. The decrease in Black character representations was mainly due to the decrease in black situation comedies; other minorities and Hispanics appeared only very infrequently on TV. In general, U.S. prime time television messages on diversity and tolerance are almost nonexistent.
