Annotation

This study confirms the general vulnerability hypothesis as adolescent participants' highly ambivalent attitudes to marijuana use resulted in greater assent with anti-drug messages and more anti-drug intentions and attitudes. No impact of ambivalence on anti-drug message elaboration was found. The implications of these results for anti-drug communication campaigns are considered.
