Drawing on relational dialectics theory (Baxter & Montgomery, 1996), this study reveals that bereaved parents sense a dialectical contradiction between attempting to mourn their child's death together, as a couple, and apart, as individuals, and between being both extro- and introvert when talking about their child's death to one another.
