This paper explores how Merleau-Ponty's ontological diasporicity is linked to the domain of discourse, the black diaspora's lived experience and the optics of racialized power relations. The work of Franz Fanon is used to examine how basic black diasporia melancholic and nostalgic moods can be thematized in such a manner that (pre-) discursive elements can be inserted.
