Annotation

This paper tries to demonstrate, via its analysis of South African travel writing and narrative fiction, that Griqua identity, recognised by the UNO as having 'first-nation' status, a notion which actually problematises the question of South African Griqua origins, exemplifies identity formation's constitutive ambiguities in the South African context.
