Annotation

An attempt to outline possible functional equivalences of pictures and sentences with respect to communicational actions, concerning indirect requests, homonymy, and jokes. It is claimed that both aspects bear 'semantic power' and interact in communication, and both have to be taken into account in research on language processing.
