Annotation
This study shows that the two most popular alternative accounts to Grice's implicature recovery theory in current literature (i.e. the default inference and the relevance theoretic perspective) still struggle with significant problems. It suggests that an alternative account, based on semantic minimalism, is best suited to accommodate the Gricean distinction.
