Annotation

This article explores the impact of contact-induced language change on the nominal and verbal inflectional morphology of various Native American languages. As borrowing is an infrequently used source of morphological renewal in these languages, diachronic analysis of inflectional morphology stays the most reliable and accurate way of genealogically classifying these languages.
