Annotation

This longitudinal content and structural analysis of German party websites in the 2002 and 2005 national elections, reveals a twofold development of federal e-campaigns: major party websites changed over time with respect to information density, interactivity and sophistication (innovation), whilst minor parties tended to underutilize structural website functions (normalization). But on the content level, both mainly adhered to traditional offline strategies.
