This paper tries to contribute to Dutch journalists' self-reflection on whether or not and if so, in what way the politician Pim Fortuyn was demonized in news reporting, by content analyzing the online versions of the Dutch newspapers 'De Telegraaf' and 'de Volkskrant'. Similarities in the framing treatment of Pim Fortuyn and the extreme right are considered as an indicator of demonization.
