This study explores linguistic vagueness in contemporary English normative legal texts and terminological problems linked to vagueness and indeterminacy in the legal domain and language in general. It also evokes issues pertaining to the link between legal texts and contexts, problems of the link between vagueness and ambiguity, the question of how linguistic forms obtain their contextual meaning and how linguistic expressions are disambiguated.
