Annotation

Focusing on how children, aged 4 to 12, address narratives' 'evaluative' component (Labov & Waletsky, 1967), this study reveals that children's second presentation of a story based on a misunderstanding, after scaffolding, contains considerably more references to characters' internal states (from 6-7 years on) and to the expression of false belief and its rectification (from 8-9 years on).
