Annotation

This critical sociolinguistic study focuses on the prejudiced cross-examination in Australian courtroom discourse of three Australian Aboriginal boys who were prosecution witnesses in the examined case study of six police officers charged with their abduction. It is shown how the language mechanisms enabled by courtroom evidence rules serve to justify neocolonial control over aboriginal people.
