Annotation

This interactional, sociolinguistic, discourse analytic study concentrates on 34 years of police interrogations involving American Hispanic crime suspects with limited English proficiency and police officers with limited Spanish proficiency. It discusses the pitfalls of police officers acting as interpreters at custodial interrogations, often resulting in coerced confessions.
