Annotation

This book integrates intertextuality and framing theories in order to examine how and why (dual-income American) family members repeat one another's words in everyday conversation, and to explore the interactive impact of these repetitions. The repetitions are shown to serve the crucial function of generating the complex, shared meanings that grant each family its distinctive identity.
